Buzz goes pro… (0)

February 10th, 2010 by Gaz Walker, under Craic.

I was meant to be part of the stable set up by JonLundy, however, after a few weeks of the trial i just decided this wasnt for me. I didnt feel like i was personally gaining much from the experience and had possibly even backtracked a little in my poker carear. I would like to thank Jon for the oppourtunity he gave me, because their is no doubt that he is the best around at what he does. Jon is a really good friend of mine and i owe a lot to what iv become to jon. (and i dont just mean fat and lazy) So basically i am now going it alone as a professional poker player, and i will continue to do this until i go broke or fall out of love with game and have to get a job, however, i dont see this being a problem in the very near future.

Most of Jons training towards me even before the stable started was to do with 6-max cash games so this is what i will be mainly focusing on at 100nl. I have been beating this game for quite a while now so it is what i will continue to do. I will be playing between 12-16 tables and will hopefully be playing between 20-30 hours per week. I will also have the odd MTT session through the week if cash games are going well, where i will play numerous tourneys throughout an evening ranging from 20$ to 100$ buy ins. I will start each week with 4k$ in my account on a monday, meaning that i will be withdrawing/depositing on sunday night. Im doing this because i actualy need to withdraw money into my bank account as if it is actualy a wage being paid from a company. Also, i will be attempting to play a the odd live MTT with buyins from £100-500 at DTD or GUKPT if i can find people to sell %’s to or satelite into myself. I will almost exclusively be playing on Full Tilt Poker under the name buzzz20, so feel free to have a rail if your bored!!

The Philli Stable (0)

February 1st, 2010 by Gaz Walker, under Craic.

Hardy news anymore, but definitely news-worthy was Jon Lundy’s announcement of his “Philli Stable”, basically his new balla house come poker grind station. Several sensations were picked to further themselves as poker pro’s.

You can read all about it on the NPF:

And at the blog here:

We wish the lads all the best and hopes Jon’s venture is very successful.

Slow January… (0)

February 1st, 2010 by Gaz Walker, under Craic.

Howdy folks,

Sorry about the slow January. I haven’t been my usual self in January due to my mam being sick and sadly dying last week (RIP Mam :( )

I’ve been down to playing one game a week and not having much time or inclination to do much else.

So will try and push on this month and get things going. There’s been lots of news which has gone unreported, will try and catch up on some of that in the next few days.

All the best,

On Saturday 5th December at 2pm, the GUKPT Champion of Champions Tournament will take place at the G Casino in Luton. The prize pool of £100,000 has been entirely provided by Grosvenor/G Casinos and their online partner Blue Square Poker. It is a two day tournament and will conclude on Sunday 6th December.

This is the second year that this unique event has been held and the only way to earn a seat into it is to win your way in. Both main events and side events on the GUKPT count as qualifying tournaments. There were also a small number of additional seats which were won via non-GUKPT events such as APAT (the Amateur Poker Association & Tour), the GUKPT National League and the Champions Poker League.

The number of starting chips that each player will receive varies, depending on the size of the buy in of the qualifying event won. Most players will start with 5,000 or 6,000 chips, but there are some players who have won more than one tournament, who will start with significantly more. The maximum starting stack is capped at 25,000, but there are only two players (Karl Mahrenholz and Richard Gryko) who will start with this much.

There is still a chance to qualify for the event as all the side events (up until and including Friday) at the Champion of Champions festival in Luton this week count as the last possible chance to earn a seat into the event.

The prize money for the event is £100,000, however the prize stucture will be determined on Saturday by all players who are there in time for the start of the tournament. Players will be presented with three srtuctures for how the prize money will be distributed and asked to vote on which option they would prefer. Only players who attend the event will be eligible to claim a prize.

Players who have qualified but have not visited the G Casino in Luton before are advised to bring some photo ID with them, as this will be required in order to become a member. All players are also advised that the G Casino in Luton has a very strict dress code – trainers, ripped or torn jeans, hoodies and sportswear are not permitted.

X-mas Party (1)

November 21st, 2009 by Gaz Walker, under Craic.

People,

X-mas party is scheduled for Friday 11th December. Take the day or afternoon off.

The day starts as early as you can be arsed at Farmers Dave’s (which if you’ve not been before is at Darras Hall). He will entertain us as we get shit faced , play poker, Pro Evo on the PS3, and some pool. We will order in some grub, and then head out to town for 8-9pm for a fun filled evening.

Please don’t miss out on this, I would like everyone to attend unless you have some seriously good excuses (proof will be required).

I can do pickups on the afternoon for a few of you if needed.

Dave has some space if you want to stay at his, you can leave your car outside but please let him know.
