Yo, Ain’t posted on here in ages with the main reason being that I took 6 weeks off completely from playing poker. I actually really enjoyed the break but 6 weeks was enough and I couldnt wait to get playing again. In the summer I am hoping to make it into Jon Lundy’s Pro Stable and therefore I decided to only grind 6max cash on VC as this is what Jon will require me to do from May onwards.
In the past when I have played online I have never really taken it seriously and prepared properly which I believe is one major reason I have never made any real monies. Therefore, at the end of 2009 I sought help from Dan Trett who sent me a huge 3 page email setting out everything from BRM guidelines, session preparation and how I could transform my profitable live game to the online world.
I also made sure I stopped by ‘The Philli Stable’ in January to see the set up there and I must say its awesome. I was there for a good 26 hours without any sleep and just being surrounded by such players as Lundy, Milo and Buzz helped my game so much. Jon taught me the basics of one of the styles of his 6max cash game strategy and I was able to put in a good few hours there applying it. I am a very keen student of the game and took notes from watchin Jon play and I was constantly asking advice from Milo and Buzz who considering their age know an astonishing amount about the game and they helped me a lot.
On Tuesday I deposited $600 onto VC under the alias of ‘hitthedole’(thanks Knerrard lol) so I could grind the 20NL 6 max cash. I know this leaves me a little underrolled but I just couldn’t bring myself to play 10NL.
So with Dan Trett’s advice in mind before I played my first session which was at about 10pm at night I showered, put on some clean clothes, grabbed a bottle of water, made sure my room was uncluttered and locked the door so my housemates couldn’t come in and distract me. I played for just over an hour on 4 tables and finished $12 up. Despite being in profit I felt I didn’t play my best and by the end of the 1 hour session I was very tired.
In my next two sessions which were yesterday, I moved up to 6 tables but I finished $29 down collectively. I felt in both I started well but once again after about an hour I felt tired and my concentration was not at 100% which led to me making mistakes.
The last session I played was mid-afternoon today and I felt much better about my session. It was only an hour and a half but finished $14 up. I felt less tired, played better and made less mistakes. For the first time I also listened to music whilst I played which helped my concentration. My profit from this session would have been much greater had I not lost a big pot with Fullhouse over Fullhouse.
So after about 2,200 hands I have found that my sessions should be earlier in the day as in the late night sessions I was getting tired and not playing my best. Also, after every hour of a long session I will take a short break just to keep fresh. Listening to music will also always be on the agenda.
I have a 50% rakeback deal with VC but to maintain that I have to rake $500 a month which I have been told at 20NL is around 38,000 a month. I therefore think that from next week I may move to 9 tables as I am only aiming to break even in these first couple of months whilst I clear my sign up bonus and get to grips with this game that is so new to me. One thing that could be a problem with this is that even when 6 tabling I am finding it hard to make detailed notes on the reg’s as 6 max is so much more intense than full ring cash.
So far I have realised that 6max cash is so different to any sort of poker I have played before and I definetely need some help with it. I will be looking to watch some training videos and seek advice from anyone who knows how to win at 6max cash. Peace

I was meant to be part of the stable set up by JonLundy, however, after a few weeks of the trial i just decided this wasnt for me. I didnt feel like i was personally gaining much from the experience and had possibly even backtracked a little in my poker carear. I would like to thank Jon for the oppourtunity he gave me, because their is no doubt that he is the best around at what he does. Jon is a really good friend of mine and i owe a lot to what iv become to jon. (and i dont just mean fat and lazy) So basically i am now going it alone as a professional poker player, and i will continue to do this until i go broke or fall out of love with game and have to get a job, however, i dont see this being a problem in the very near future.
Most of Jons training towards me even before the stable started was to do with 6-max cash games so this is what i will be mainly focusing on at 100nl. I have been beating this game for quite a while now so it is what i will continue to do. I will be playing between 12-16 tables and will hopefully be playing between 20-30 hours per week. I will also have the odd MTT session through the week if cash games are going well, where i will play numerous tourneys throughout an evening ranging from 20$ to 100$ buy ins. I will start each week with 4k$ in my account on a monday, meaning that i will be withdrawing/depositing on sunday night. Im doing this because i actualy need to withdraw money into my bank account as if it is actualy a wage being paid from a company. Also, i will be attempting to play a the odd live MTT with buyins from £100-500 at DTD or GUKPT if i can find people to sell %’s to or satelite into myself. I will almost exclusively be playing on Full Tilt Poker under the name buzzz20, so feel free to have a rail if your bored!!

Hardy news anymore, but definitely news-worthy was Jon Lundy’s announcement of his “Philli Stable”, basically his new balla house come poker grind station. Several sensations were picked to further themselves as poker pro’s.
You can read all about it on the NPF:

And at the blog here:

We wish the lads all the best and hopes Jon’s venture is very successful.

Howdy folks,
Sorry about the slow January. I haven’t been my usual self in January due to my mam being sick and sadly dying last week (RIP Mam
)
I’ve been down to playing one game a week and not having much time or inclination to do much else.
So will try and push on this month and get things going. There’s been lots of news which has gone unreported, will try and catch up on some of that in the next few days.
All the best,
Skip x

going for the snelizzles, lets do this!!!

Weeeeeee only a week and a day away, The Sensations take a trip to Manchester to support the forum team, and out very own SamJ who is in the Apat team. There will be a very good number of Sensations there (Buzzzzz, Skipper, Spoona, Andrizu, Milo and Myself, if someone else is coming from the team, i dont no). I for one cant wait for the weekend, if its anything like Dublin then i will leave a happy lad, lets gogogogogo

Thought id do a quick (very quick) post on here as its been a bit dead recently.
o.k december i decided i would take a bit of a break from poker, due to christmas etc etc but i still played the odd hour here and there but very very little volume, but managed to turn in a pretty tidy 900$ or so profit online for the month, which considering i played maybe 30 hours for the whole month online im over the moon with. i was pretty much only playing 50.1 cash tables on full tilt, 6-max and 6-tabling so a lot of aggression etc, so thts a very nice bonus to the roll even from a very lazy month. cant actualy remember if i played live during December, so certainly nothing worth remembering!!!
a couple of days after new year a few people headed down to jonlundy’s new pad in houghton-le-spring for a chinese n a few beers etc etc the plan was to stay one night only, however, having being told by jon to move “the brava” further down the drive, i ended up not being able to get my car off the drive for a whole week in the 7 inches of snow that were lying, FML. so i ended up spending the week monday-sunday at his house lol the week started alrite, after 3 days i was around 4004 in profit, which included being 0/8 for cashes in mtt’s, think made a couple of buyin’s at both 6 max 50.1 and heads up 50.1, so was pretty happy with the start of the night. then however came the 2 day downswing, genuinly running bad and managed to drop about 9 buyins at 6 max 50.1 and a few hundo on mtt’s with no cashes again. so it comes to my lastnyt on saturday and i am inside of about a 1k hole for the week, when i load up 7 or 8 mtt’s accross FTP and PokerStars, ranging from 20$ to 100$, and cash in 3/7 including taking down the 32kGTd on ftp for 9.3k!!!!shiiiiip!!!!!well out of the hole for the week and a great start to the year. in all hnesty it was the easiest mtt iv ever played, i was a total cardrack and had all hands hold up, pokers easy if u run tht good!!!
What the future holds for 2010. I shall be playing as part of junlundy’s stable, which will be grinding 6 max cash with the occasional live mtt thrown in there, hopefully i can begin to play a serious full time volume of poker and approach it full as a job. i have a figure in my head which i want to have by the end of 2010 so hopefully i can achieve this:-)
